Grace and Marc’s wedding took place in the countryside village of Stroxton. It was back on the last real day of summer. The wedding was an friendly and intimate affair, focused around family and the small village where the wedding took place. Grace is the sister of one of my good friends and the wedding was taking place near my home town. But, more on that later!

The Couple

According to their speeches; Grace is the fashionable one up for new experiences and Marc is the one with fiscal discipline. They say opposites attract, and that would appear to be true in this case!

Countryside Village Wedding

This wedding had bags of character. It took place in Grace’s parents back yard in the tiny village of Stroxton. The garden had a marquee erected in it and even the village church is located out the back of the house in a field. The weather was really lovely and sunny. As the vicar states in his introduction;

“Welcome to this lovely church in a field, on the last nice day of summer, coz tomorrows gonna thunderstorm – so how lucky is that!”.

How We Met

Grace is one of my really good friends’ sister. Hey recommended me and luckily Grace really liked my work! I had met Grace once before. She gave me and my buddy a lift home after a night out (a long time ago). I don’t remember too much as we were a bit pissed (Grace wasn’t obviously) but I do remember her being really friendly. That’s something that was certainly proved true on the wedding day. Grace is such a lovely and genuine person and we had a real laugh on her wedding day.

Why have a Wedding Film?

I asked Grace to say why she wanted a wedding video and she replied;

We really want to be able to relive the day and remember how much fun we had! We recently watched a small part of Grace’s parent’s wedding video from 45 years ago – it was mad to see everyone so clearly. It was really emotional and lovely to see all these faces as younger people! We’d love to be able to show our kids one day and point out all the people who we shared our day with like they did.

I love this sentiment, and I think it’s exactly why everyone should get a wedding video. You get something that you can’t get from photographs alone.

If you’re on the fence about getting a film made, you don’t have to listen to me, but may be check this testimonial to see if it changes your mind!

We booked Hargreaves films for our wedding in September 2019. We weren’t sure whether to book to videographer, but now we are both so so happy we did. It’s hard to put into words how incredibly happy we are with the footage of our wedding, it’s just perfect!

Simon and Hannah worked amazingly on the day to capture the feeling of the day and guests barely noticed they were there! They made us feel at ease when we were getting some shots of just the two of us and it was actually really fun!

From the outset, Simon was really great at talking us through our options. We decided to go for a 10 minute cut, a 5 minute cut and then the full ceremony and speeches. It’s been so wonderful being able to relive the day and share the shorter videos with our family and friends.

We would really recommend Hargreaves Films.
